The Publisher Blueprint Newspaper and Chairman Bifocal Communications Limited, Alhaji Mohammed Idris has been turbaned as Jagaba Amana Kakanda by Amana Kakanda Muye, HRH Maigari 11, Alh Abdulkadir Muhammad.

The colourful event took place at the palace of Amana Muye, Lapai, local government area of Niger state on Sunday.

Speaking on the conferment, Amana kakanda said those turbaned were carefully chosen for their contribution to society.

“Those that have been conferred with traditional titles today were chosen based on their track records of outstanding performance in their careers and for their contributions to society.”

In his remarks, publisher, Blueprint Newspaper, Alhaji Mohammed Idris thanked the Amana Kakanda and council of elders for the title which he noted was a pleasant surprise to him.

“I have always done my best in my career and have also remained true to those universal values of commitment to set goals, contribution to society and service to humanity. I know that life is not just about self. I am extremely delighted for the recognition. “

“I thank Amana Kakanda Muye and the council of elders for the honour.”

Commenting on the conferment, one of the recipients, Dr Jummai Umar Sanda who was turbaned as Jakadiya Amana also expressed joy over the recognition by her community noting that it would serve as an encouragement to women.

“I value this title conferred on me today by my community. Being a community where girl child education is still a challenge, recognition such as this is very important to encourage other women to pursue their chosen career and contribute their quota to the society.”

Speaking on behalf of friends of Jagaban Kakanda, Hon Ibrahim Gidado, who is Tafarkin Sakkwato said the recipient deserved the recognition.

“I have known the new Jagaban for many decades. Therefore this recognition didn’t come to me as a surprise. Jagaba means a leader and the recipient possess all the qualities of a good leaders. Since I know him, he has displayed those qualities.”

“Whatever, he sets out to do, he does it diligently and to the best of his ability. He is also a team leader and team player who carries people along. He is a man of the people, who is also committed to people. I hope this title will spur him to do more.”

The new Jagaban Kakanda was accompanied to the momentous event by the Chief Operating Officer, Blueprint Newspaper, Mal Sallisu Umar, Alh Abdulamalik Muye, Barrister Bala Marika, Alhaji Bashir Chedi, Alhaji Hassan Ndanusa, Mal Abubakar Abdullahi, Mal Kasim Sale, Mal Usman Abubakar, Mal Musa Abdullahi, Alh Mohammed Azozo, Alh Falalu Sale, Arc Sulieman Sarki, Alh Ahmed Sani, and Bar Maimuna Yahaya. Others include Bar Mohammed Malagi, Mr Theophilus Mamman, Alh Mustapha Badakoshi, Hon Abraham Umar and Hajiya Aisha Lemu among others.

Seventeen other recipients were turbaned with different tittles at the ceremony.
